Starting my weight loss journey

I have thought about starting this weight loss blog for such a long time now but never really had the courage to do it. Maybe I am afraid that I may not really accomplish what I intend to accomplish here, but after much thought and deliberation I decided the best thing to do is to go ahead with posting my progress because how else will I know if I can actually do this without trying.

So I actually started the journey four days ago. I went swimming for three days and just did a work out from a DVD on the fourth day because the pool was closed. I was a little bit discouraged yesterday when I went on the internet to look up swimming and weight loss. Almost all the sites I found said that swimming was not very effective as a weight loss method. It said something about not using up enough calories or keeping up the heart rate for long enough.

If I may, I will disagree with that because after the first day of swimming my whole body was sore, I could feel all my major muscles were exerted. Well I am of course not a health expert and I am also not a great swimmer but I enjoy swimming and that is the one thing that doesn't feel like exercise to me so I will continue doing it. I feel like it is helping me strengthen up because by the third day in the pool, I could do longer laps and swim faster without getting so tired.

Right now my weight is at about 170lbs and I am round 5'5. I don't have a scale yet but hope to get one in the next few days. My problem areas are my stomach-I would kill for a flat stomach and abs, my arms and my boobs which are a 38D. I have body shots and I plan to have them up asap.

So, wish me luck as I embark on this journey!
